What can I bring on the Megabus?
Besides a kind greeting, passengers are required to present a valid reservation number, provided at the time of purchase, when boarding megabus. While not required, we do suggest you bring a printed copy of your reservation confirmation email, as this will include your reservation number(s).
How strict is Megabus with luggage UK?
megabus.com does not check luggage or provide receipts for luggage transported on the bus by passengers. We don’t mind what your luggage is packed in, and we only ask that it weighs no more than 20kg and is no bigger than a standard ‘large’ suitcase. The maximum size of a single bag is 200cm (width + height + depth).
How strict are National Express with luggage?
You may take one medium-sized suitcase or rucksack and one small piece of soft hand luggage per person travelling, free of charge. Your one piece of luggage must not exceed 20kg, with maximum dimensions of 70cm x 30cm x 45cm. Items of luggage in excess of 20kg will be charged.

Megabus is an exception, as they don’t allow excess baggage (you’ll need to buy another ticket in order to bring one more bag onto the bus). You can either do so in advance, online, or pay the walk-up price at the bus station.
