As the scandal surrounding the notable basketball player and Tigers coach Kim Mulkey continues to unfold; it seems that some of Angel Reese’s former teammates from Louisiana State University are becoming interested in the situation.
Reese, who was the most talented player in the club and the star of the team that won the NCAA championship the previous year, was taken out of the lineup on Friday night during a win over Southeastern Louisiana and was replaced in the second half of a victory over Kent State on Tuesday.
Mulkey did not give any further information or insight into Reese’s present state.
“Do you desire me to provide an explanation for this?” Mulkey made the statement to the press after the game on Friday night. “It is evident that Angel was not wearing the appropriate attire,” Mulkey added.
“Angel is a member of this basketball team, and we anticipate her return in the near future.”
LSU’s surprising defeat against Colorado, ranked twenty-first in the first game of the season, led to the decision to bench Reese and his subsequent departure from the squad. The timing of this choice coincided with Reese’s engagement throughout the summer when he rose to fame as a result of his participation in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and his appearances in a music video with Cardi B and Latto.
In an appearance on X, Reese’s former colleague, Alexis Morris, shared her opinions on a variety of aspects of the situation, and it seemed that she was in agreement with Reese and others who were taking advantage of NIL opportunities.
“I have never had any desire to be in conflict or concerned about popularity, social media, or any of those things,” Morris told reporters on Saturday.
“I simply desired to play basketball.” I am a member of a separate generation of gamers, and during the time that I was a student at HSNIL, we did not have access to all of these tools, which is a significant benefit. As far as I am concerned, exposure to the media is beneficial.
In addition, See turned off the opportunity to criticize Mulkey for the way in which she handled the situation regarding Reese.
Morris made the statement on Thursday on X. “I refuse to accept payment in exchange for criticizing Kim,” said Morris.
She made the following statement: “They changed their allegiance in order to organize themselves against me.” At this moment, each and every one of you is dispersing. Clout should never be prioritized before loyalty in a free game. I demonstrated genuine affection, not for marketing, politics, or anything else. On the other hand, the realist is always the one who emerges victorious in the end.
It would seem that Jasmin Carson, a previous star while attending LSU, is now attempting to avoid becoming embroiled in the fight.
“You all should hope that I don’t disclose any information… because it would become headline news,” Carson wrote on X on Thursday. “Since it would become headline news.”
Carson and Morris were both part of the team that won the national title the year before.
When Angel Reese Webb, the mother of Reese, and Kia Brooks, the mother of Flau’jae Johnson, got into a heated argument on Instagram, the situation became even more complicated.
“Please refrain from sending me lengthy text messages containing numerous grammatical errors as it causes me discomfort,” according to Webb.
“How can I verify the veracity of your statement if I am unable to comprehend the content of your communication?”
Brooks responded to Webb by saying, “You are certainly familiar with grammatical mistakes, considering your daughter’s GPA was 2.0 or lower.” Just Women’s Sports published this statement. You should refrain from participating in insignificant, insincere, and nasty conduct, and you should take responsibility for your own acts as well as the activities of your daughter.
Mulkey referred to the decision to bench the player as a “decision made by the coach.”
In contrast, Glenn Guilbeau, a writer with twenty years of experience covering LSU athletics, said that Reese was purposefully pulled from the starting lineup to encourage a shift in attitude. Guilbeau is a member of OutKick.
